The Darcy J. Foundation, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2008 by Darcy S. Johnson, a young man who understood the struggles of single parenthood. His mission was to give children a role model and educate families on the importance of healthy parenting; physically, emotionally, and socially.

His vision brought community events and programs that catered to those in his home town of Palatka, Florida.

Today, The Darcy J. Foundation not only serves his home town, but has expanded its efforts to Central and South Florida communities, and has served more than 5,000 moms and their families from Broward, Orange, Seminole, and Putnam Counties, through its Road to Success Program, Sports Camps, Back to School Fun Days and more.

The Darcy J. Foundation is governed by an active 10-member volunteer board of directors that represent the entire State of Florida. We partner with various community businesses, other foundations and schools to furnish our yearly programs and activities.

How we work

Health – The Healthy Living Program offers tips to help mom and family develop a healthier way of life, through nutrition, fitness and life management. Join The Darcy J. Foundation in its efforts to promote our Healthy Living Program and increase awareness to the issues of obesity, bad habits and disparities in health overall.

Education – The Road To Success program uses volunteers from the community to serve as role models for students. Busy mom’s can always use extra assistance. Our mentor program provides 2nd to 12th grade students with valuable assets they can use in everyday life, including time management, social skills and organizational skills.

Community Involvement – The foundation has hosted numerous local and statewide community events, involving over 3,000 youth and families in its back to school events, sports camps, college prep programs and more! We support the efforts of other organizations, to help raise awareness of their missions and visions. Over the years we have selected various organizations, such as Rescue Outreach Mission, Autism Society of Greater Orlando, intervention Services, Inc, and the Coalition for the Homeless, to donate over $12,000 of toys to the children and families they serve.
